We have been creating and programming our own events working with some of the UK’s top dance music performers and comedians in venues across Norwich and Norfolk, alongside the annual Comedy Festival and one of the first UK COVID compliant festivals and outdoor events Summertime Social.

Festivals:
We work with a wide range of festivals providing anything from stages, structures to festoon lighting and sound equipment. We have been working in outdoor festival events for over twenty years from small bespoke festivals to larger outdoor events for 10,000+ people.
Laugh in the Park:
An annual 4 day comedy festival based in a key City centre park in Norwich. Ideal Events provides full production services, transforming Chapelfield Gardens into a delightful outdoor live performance and bar area with Big Top performance venue, stage, sound and light, box office and food and drink areas. Laugh in the Park is an established highlight of the summer arts and cultural event programming in Norwich.

Gunton Festival of Food & Drink:
This annual weekend festival based at the fantastic Gunton Arms turns the venues outdoor garden into a pop up festival. Ideal events works alongside the festival programming team to produce and provide the services infrastructure from Big Top, to sound, lights, outdoor bar and perimeter festoon lighting.

Sundown:
Ideal Events has been working with Sundown Festival since its inception almost 10 years ago.
Over the years we have provided a wide range of event equipment from staging for DJ big tops, arena and camping area festoon lighting, site decor and lighting alongside backstage areas.

Summertime Social:
Ideal Events concept created, produced, and managed one of the first social distance festivals in Summer 2020. Summertime Social was a 4-week festival that presented 30 events across 20 days from live music, performance, comedy, theatre, and film.
This extraordinary event brought safety social distancing audiences of 500 per event to dance and experience live performances again.
From local bands to international artists we presented live performances for the first time in COVID period. Over 10,000 attended across the 4 week period, dancing and socialising in “personal outdoor dancing for groups of 6.
Community:
Ideal events specialise in working alongside local authorities and community organisations to support a whole range of annual community events. From supplying equipment to supporting programming we have helped make hundreds of events happen.
We work with you from a full production service to completion or we can help you pre-plan with our event consultancy and event management services which can involve licensing.
Norwich Pride:
Ideal Events provides Norwich Pride with full event production and infrastructure for their main celebration party in the park for over 5,000 people. We work alongside this major city centre event to help make this event happen, working alongside their voluntary team to keep their budgets low while providing a safe and enjoyable event

Norfolk & Norwich Festival:
We’ve been working with the regional international arts festival for over 10 years. Our focus is on event infrastructure for their annual Spiegeltent venue. We help create this pop-up event space in a park providing equipment from staging, lighting, festoon installation and DJ equipment hire.

Christmas Lights Switch-on Norwich City Council:
We work with local authorities events team across the whole year from their annual carnival event attracting over 50,000 people, to events across all of their park locations providing a wide range of equipment hire from marquees to staging. This includes working with Norwich Lanes for the annual Lanes Fayre.

Experimental:
Alongside enabling other organisations events happen we produce and present a series of our own indoor and outdoor events from outdoor Cinemas, Drive-Ins, live music and performance events and the first socially distance festival and outdoor season in 2020 with Summertime Social*(*link to festivals). Over 30,000 people attend our events each year
Pop-up Cinema & Drive-in, UEA Events, Summertime Social, Parties:
Ideal Events are experts at producing special, indoor and outdoor events and our team can manage all aspects of events from health and safety, licensing to programming and event management. We have vast experience working within authorities across Norfolk and Suffolk, alongside a wide range of parks and outdoor spaces.
Our events range from large dance events and balls at Student Unions; family community festivals with live music stages for hundreds of people in local parks to presenting seasons of outdoor cinema and drive-ins for 1000’s of cars to see hundreds of outdoor screenings.
We are experienced working as a multi-season production, from Halloween and Christmas outdoor film, to annual New Year Eve dance events and parties to a 4 week safely socialising, COVID compliant outdoor festival for 4 weeks during Summer 2020. We can take on full production from concept to completion or offer a pre-event consultancy service, which can involve feasibility studies and licence applications.
Outdoor Cinema & Drive-in Cinemas:
Working in partnership with Pop Up Pictures we programme and produce a series of annual season’s out outdoor cinema across Norfolk & Suffolk. From Summer, to Halloween and Christmas we have 3 seasons of over 50 films screened in beautiful outdoor green spaces. Alongside our outdoor cinema we were the first to introduce Drive-ins in 2018. Now in our third year we sell out each season with a range of family and classic screenings.

Dance Events:
We programme a diverse range of electronic dance events presenting some of the world’s best and ground-breaking DJ’s from across genres from house, to drum n basso bringing people together to dance, enjoy life and experience live performances.
Over the last thirty years we have presented hundreds of live events to thousands of audiences, regularly selling out University of East Anglia’s LCR, our largest regional indoor live performance venue.

Private Events – Parties, Weddings and Bars
Whether you are planning a special event, celebration or wedding our sister company Vintage Wedding Hire creates magical spaces and events from full decor to lighting installations, drapes and bars.
Consultancy:
Ideal Events consultancy services works with a wide range of clients who manage their own events but need help with their planning and specialist outdoor equipment. This can be from designing and building large bespoke structures working with our temporary structure and staging company (link to modular access) to producing visuals and projections for large buildings. Clients for this service have included National Scouts Association, University of East Anglia, Norwich Theatre Royal and Norfolk Showground.
Essex International Jamboree:
Working with the international Jamboree we have designed and built a series of major temporary structures for these major outdoor adventure events. This includes liaising and working with structural engineers for approving our design concepts, full safety documentation including risk assessments and method statements design alongside site builds with our crews via our sister company Modular Access.

Brandbank:
We were commissioned to create a photography studio set up for BRANDBANK Advertising agency.
This included creating full draped photography shoot, fully enclosed with sides and ceiling which was an independent structure within a larger room.
In addition, we designed and constructed bespoke desk and working areas.
Norwich University of the Arts:
LONDON FASHION WEEK EXHIBITION AND INSTALLATION
Norwich University of the Arts (NUA) asked us to create a bespoke free-standing exhibition and installation at the Truman Brewery as part of their undergraduate work for London Fashion Week. This included designing and constructing a large-scale exhibition structure and lighting set of Perspex panels and modules for mannequins.

Working alongside NUA exhibition team and artists Erika Tan for her multimedia installation at East Gallery, we designed and constructed scaffolding key clamp installation as part of her work.
